Seasonal solar energy storage using buried water tank: simulation study under typical Chinese weather condition.
Résumé
The solar collector has become popular in China. However, it is mainly used for hot water heating instead of space heating, due to the lack of reliable solar energy storage. In this paper, a central solar heating system using a buried water tank for seasonal solar energy storage was simulated with TRNSYS (version 16) under the weather conditions of Tianjin, a typical site in northern China. As the most important factor, ratio of collector area to tank volume (A/V) was investigated to reveal its influences to the system performance. From the simulation results, the long-term performance of system can be predicted. Also a same central solar heating system in Shenyang, which is located in north-western China, was simulated to investigate the effect of different weather data on the system. Comparison of the simulation results reveal that Tianjin is more suitable to locate such systems, and the solar fraction of the system can reach 31-54% in the second operation year with the factor of A/V in the range of 0.1-0.4.
