Résumé

The experiments on flow characteristics and deposition of tetra-n-butylammonium bromide (TBAB) hydrate slurry in a refrigeration system were conducted using a flow loop. The results indicate that stable TBAB slurry formed in the pipeline with the initial concentration of lower than 20%. However, many hydrate particles deposited on the wall of the pipeline when the initial concentration of TBAB in the pipeline was higher than 20% and the temperature was 4-5°C, leading to the reduction of the flow area and even the blocking in the pipeline. The mechanism of the hydrate particle deposition was analyzed and molecular diffusion was considered to be the most important driving force. In addition, Span 80 with the mass concentration of more than 3% as an additive could effectively reduce the hydrate particles deposition on the pipeline.
