Energy analysis of a 3D printed building and energy improvement to achieve near zero energy building.

Résumé

Nowadays, energy consumption in the construction, maintenance and use of buildings represents 40% of the total final energy demand as indicated in Directive 2012/27/EU, which has turned into a significant economic expense and large amounts of GHG emissions that contribute to the climate change. In addition, most of the energy demand in houses is given by the consumption of HVAC.
Therefore, the objective of this work lies in the energy analysis of a residential building using an innovative 3D printing technology by BEMORE 3D, as well as the study of passive strategies in order to reach the necessary requirements to achieve the nearly zero-energy building certification.
With an initial consumption of 234,85 kWh/(m2 year), it is possible to reduce to 28,63 kWh/(m2 year). These measures have an impact on an economic saving of 278,44 €/year and of GHG emissions savings of 1,23 tons of CO2, eq /year.
