Résumé

In the present study, a new type of high performance air-cooled condenser was applied to a refrigeration system. The condenser was composed of short finned-tube banks with a pair of headers at both ends. Round copper sheets with some orifices, called liquid-vapor separators, were set in the headers. With the help of them, refrigerant entered the appointed tube routes and flew through them in parallel. Meanwhile, condensate was separated from the liquid-vapor mixture into the headers. Two refrigeration systems using different condensers, the new designed and the conventional one, with the same heat transfer area, were compared at varying outdoor ambient temperature of 29~41°C. The exergy loss ratios of condenser, evaporator, compressor, and capillary tube of the two systems were obtained. The cycle with the new condenser showed 7.37% to 9.49% higher exergy efficiency at ambient temperature of 29~41°C. The new designed condenser could improve thermal performance of the refrigeration unit.
