Résumé

Experimental analysis is carried out on a variable-capacity heat pump equipped with a hermetic scroll compressor, a vapour injection port and a permanent magnet motor. Refrigerant used in the system is R410A. The experiments are made on the heat pump without and with vapour injection. When vapour injection is used, the heat pump’s performance is evaluated for two different refrigerant charges: 1.15kg and 1.28kg. The heat pump heating capacity increases about 20% on average when the vapour injection is used in the heat pump. The tests on the heat pump with two different charges show that the higher the charge, the higher the gain of vapour injection is, but only at a high-compressor speed. The experiments show that vapour injection improves the heat pump COP 6.8% and 9.4% on average, depending on how much refrigerant is charged to the system. According to our experiments, there is no gain from vapour injection when compressor speed is as low as 30 Hz.
