Analyse expérimentale et théorique de la performance d'un refroidisseur à absorption à petite échelle.

Experimental and theoretical performance analysis of a small scale absorption chiller.

Résumé

The electricity demand for air-conditioning applications in buildings has increased considerably in Europe in recent years, expanding the potential market of small scale heating and power systems for buildings with the integration of thermal cooling technologies. Absorption chillers are the most frequently adopted cooling technology for solar thermal cooling and one of their key components. The objective of this study was to present the modelling and performance analysis of a small scale absorption chiller and its comparison with real data. The absorption chiller used was an ammonia/water 12 kW unit connected to a new testing bench at the Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona, Spain. The absorption chiller was evaluated under a wide range of external and internal operating conditions of the absorption chiller. The measured data were recorded using a data acquisition and treatment system. The absorption chiller was modelled by using a steady-state thermodynamic model in the frame of the engineering equation solver (EES) software to calculate the performance of the absorption chiller.
