Résumé

The transient temperature distribution and heat transfer characteristics of the rotary compressor are crucial to its reliability and efficiency of the compressor. In this paper, a transient mathematical model on predicting the temperature in the compressor during startup is proposed. Control volumes are divided including the fluid and solid domains. The convective heat transfer coefficient of each surface is discussed. A coupled solution method and its Fortran calculation program are developed. This mathematical model is experimentally validated by comparing the measured and calculated temperatures of the compressor. The results shows that calculated temperatures are consistent with the measured results during the startup process. The maximum error of the steady-state temperature is within 2 °C. The refrigerant in the compression unit mainly absorbs heat from the refrigerant in the lower chamber. Measures should be taken to reduce the heating of the upper bearing surface by the refrigerant in the lower chamber to improve the volume and indicated efficiencies.
