Résumé

Describes an analysis of the thermal performance of a solar collector/evaporator panel of direct-expansion solar assisted heat pump (DX-SAHP) system. A refrigerant mixture of R123 and R134a was used; this mixture underwent a phase change from liquid to vapour due to solar energy input. Describes a methodology to determine the collector size from known inlet and exit thermodynamic states by invoking the first law property relations from two-component and two-phase equilibrium thermodynamics and heat transfer correlations for a two-component mixture undergoing liquid to vapour phase transformation.
