Résumé

Political targets for buildings both in Europe and in North-America focus on Nearly or Net Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB) to be widely introduced by 2020. While low energy and passive houses already show strong market growth in several countries, NZEB are mainly in the Pilot and Demonstration phase. The new Annex 40 in the Heat Pump Programme (HPP) of the International Energy Agency (IEA) has started in July 2012 and is dedicated to the development of concepts and technologies for NZEB incorporating heat pumps as central components of the building technology. Currently, six countries :Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA are participating in the project, with further countries like Belgium, Canada, Germany, Finland and France interested to join the project in the near future. Task 1 is dedicated to a state-of-the-art survey of building technology concepts installed in presently built NZEBs. In Task 2, detailed analysis and optimization of promising concepts will be performed by system comparison and simulations, considering the system performance and cost as well as design and control issues. In parallel, in Task 3, a further development of system technology and field monitoring of NZEB technologies is to be accomplished. Task 4 will derive recommendations from Task 2 and Task 3. Moreover, Task 4 is also dedicated to storage options for electricity and heat, load match and interaction with energy grids and options for smart operation by enhanced ICTechnologies which will become important with a broad introduction of NZEB.
