Résumé

Heat pumps are the most popular air conditioning equipment in commercial and residential applications in Japan. More than 5 million commercial units and 45 million residential units are being used today. The situation on the diffusion of heat pumps in Japan for the commercial sector seems to be saturated and we are now at the entrance of new era in the sense of diffusion activity for new applications. This is the theme of the paper.
