Résumé

Rotary heat exchangers with sorption coating transfer sensible heat besides humidity. Their characteristics are temperature and humidity efficiency. While temperature efficiency is easy to assess thermodynamically, the calculation of humidification efficiency is more complex. Several mechanisms influence this value, which depends on the used sorbent as well as on the air conditions. The yearly energy recovery depends on performance data on the applied heat exchanger as well as on the air humidification (steam or adiabatic) and of the control. Only co-ordinated concepts guarantee high-energy recovery all year round.
