Résumé

The fundamental strengths of thermal energy storage (TES) have not changed, while hardware and controls have improved. System integration is essential to realizing the full benefit of TES, but this does not imply that complexity is needed. On the contrary, one of the lessons of the past quarter-century is that systems with fairly simple automatic controls or manual control can be very successful.
