Résumé

Exhibits in museums are often not just very valuable but also very sensitive. There are generally high demands on climatic conditions within the respective exhibition rooms. However this can be contrary to the thermal behavior of existing historical and compact museum buildings. For their proper air conditioning and reconstruction, high expenses are incurred. Within the framework of the project presented here, a representative exhibition room with a variety of ventilation- and heating- / cooling- systems was modeled and numerically analyzed using coupled building- and air flow simulation. Simultaneously to the comparative numerical investigations, measurements in a number of typical exhibition rooms were carried out to analyse the prevailing climatic conditions and the operating mode of the installed building equipment.
