Résumé

The stability margin was measured for a sample of a 6.3-m long cable-in-conduit conductor composed of 27 strands at various transport currents ranging from 1200 to 2800 amperes with heating periods of 10 and 40 ms using an approximately 80 mm inductive heater. The measured stability is classified into well cooled and poorly cooled regions. A numerical simulation was also performed to investigate the heat removal characteristics in a cable-in-conduit conductor for the short length and short period disturbance.
