Résumé

A combined polygeneration system for electricity production, chilling water, heating hot water and sanitary hot water, which consists a natural gas engine, an electric generator and a combined compressor-ejector refrigeration / heat pump system for utilization of the waste heat from the engine is proposed and investigated in this paper. The main thermal parameters of the system are estimated and power balances are determined. The higher heating value of the natural gas input can be utilized with the proposed polygeneration system. According to the investigations of the characteristics of the system components the performance characteristics of the proposed combined polygeneration system are determined. The influence of the operating conditions: evaporating, condensing, generating and inter-stage temperatures on the combined compressor-ejector refrigeration cycle are analyzed. High values of the mechanical and thermal coefficients of performance (COPmech; COPth) can be obtained. The proposed system is competitive with other polygeneration systems by technical, economical and environmental reasons.
