Comparaison analytique entre le R134a et des frigorigènes de substitution dans un refroidisseur refroidi par eau.

An analytical comparison between R134a and alternative refrigerants in the water-cooled chiller.

Numéro : 1066

Résumé

Owing to escalating effect of global warming on climate change, the replacement of HFCs using lower GWP refrigerants has become a crucial work to reduce the predicted increase of mean surface temperature of the Earth. In the current scenario, this paper presents a water-cooled chiller cycle analysis to identify the relative performance of R134a, potential substitutions R513A, R1234yf, R1234ze(E), and low-pressure refrigerants R1233zd(E) and R1224yd(Z) for a 200RT chiller application. Comparisons between R134a and alternative refrigerants are carried out in terms of coefficient of performance, exergy efficiency, and irreversibility under the three types of working conditions: constant refrigerant volumetric flowrate, constant cooling capacity and fixed refrigerant mass flowrate. For constant volumetric flowrate condition, R513A can be a drop-in substitute for R134a chiller. In the constant cooling capacity and fixed mass flowrate condition, R1234ze(E) has the similar performance to R134a and performance of low-pressure refrigerants R1233zd(E) and R1224yd(Z) is better than that of R134a.
