Résumé

World demand for AC&R products in 1997 generally dropped below expectations made at the start of the year. The main reason lies in the economic crisis which has taken place in East Asia since the latter half of 1997. On the other hand, the major AC&R manufacturers in the world have continued to expand their production capacity in expectation of significant increase in demand centering around Asia.
