Résumé

An air conditioner usually adopts a constant-speed compressor or a variable-frequency compressor. The desire for energy efficiency of air-conditioner in the North American market is becoming increasingly demanding. Taking into account the doubts about the frequency conversion technology that exists on the American market, Shanghai Hitachi Electrical Appliances Co., LTD (SHEC) has designed a type of constant-speed variable capacity rotary compressor. It was designed based on a patent obtained by SHEC in 2006 and is optimized because of the application of the R410A refrigerant. This compressor was equipped with two cylinders and can realize the switch of two operating modes – two-stage compression and two-cylinder compression with the help of a four-way valve. This optimization consisted of the determination of the important parameters, the numerical simulation and the experiments. The variable capacity compressor is a new field developed during development of two-stage compressors. It has been proven that its performance is better than the constant-speed compressor and the control is easier than the inverter compressor. This technological innovation has a good market prospect.
