Conditionnement d'air d'immeubles fonctionnant en partie grâce à l'énergie solaire: un passage en revue.

Solar assisted air conditioning of buildings: an overview.

Résumé

The goal of this contribution is to describe the potentials and limits, the perspectives and challenges of the application of solar thermal energy for air conditioning of buildings. In order to achieve this, the following topics will be discussed: 1) a basic analysis of the thermodynamic limits for the use of thermal driven cooling in general and in combination with solar thermal energy in particular is drawn; thereby principal remarks on the control of solar thermally driven cooling are made; 2) an overview about the state-of-the-art of available technologies, such as closed thermally driven cooling cycles (e.g. absorption, adsorption) and open cooling cycles (e.g. desiccant employing either solid or liquid sorbents) is given. Special attention is given to the design of desiccant cooling cycles for climatic conditions with high humidity levels of the ambient air, like e.g. in Mediterranean zones.
