Optimal configuration for solution circulation in a double-effect parallel flow H2O-LiBr absorption heat pump.

Résumé

The paper illustrates the results of a numerical study carried out to investigate energy features of different configurations for solution circulation in a double-effect parallel-flow absorption heat pump that uses H2O-LiBr as working fluid. The analysis is carried out through a steady state mathematical model of the heat pump and considering three different configurations for solution circulation. Several simulations are carried out in order to analyze the effect of each configuration for solution circulation on heat pump COP and solution circulation ratio as function of high pressure generator temperature, of absorber temperature and of condensation temperature. The effect of evaporation temperature is also evaluated. The results allow to state that the simple variation of the configuration for solution circulation in the absorption heat pump can lead to considerable variation of temperature working range, COP, solution circulation ratio and weak solution flow rate distribution.
