Résumé

Due to the energy crisis, common measures for the reduction and the evaluation of energy consumption in buildings have been investigated and adopted all over the world [1]. The way the project is developed can lead to great energy savings both during construction and during operation of buildings. Ventilation is of major importance for the wellbeing of people within enclosed spaces and building design has to face the dual challenge of providing good ventilation performance as well as energy conservation [2]. In tropical climates, natural ventilation associated with solar shading is the most efficient building design strategy to reach thermal comfort by passive means [2]. This paper focus on the analyses of thermal comfort of a semi-open residence, in the city of Atibaia, Brazil, built as a veranda, with green roof, to verify how much the natural ventilation and the protection of the roofs can positively influence the environmental comfort of this semi-open area without the use of artificial sources of cooling and/or heating. The thermal comfort analysis was made through local measurements of air temperature, globe temperature, humidity and wind speed, which were used to calculate PET using the software RayMan 1.2. This semi-open area, built as a veranda, proved to be effective to decrease the wind speed and showed a better thermal comfort when compared to the outside.
