Résumé

Sustainable energy use starts in the planning phase. Builder-owner, architect and HVAC planer have to discuss in early phase establishing an integrated planning avoiding the discussed situation. But first we have to provide functioning rooms and buildings to the users then we go for consideration of energy-saving steps! The aim is to analyze the thermal comfort of a new school building that has a large percentage of glass fronts. For this reason main heat input in summer times occurs from solar radiation. In comparison to solar radiation internal heat input by students and illuminations is low and plays a subordinate part. Heat load from solar radiation during the day cannot dissipate completely at colder nights or at cloudy days. If outdoor air temperature is very high shadowing of the windows has the largest effect to reach cooler room temperature. To get a suitable thermal comfort for this situation mechanical ventilation is preferable.
