Contrôle du gaz non absorbable dans l'absorbeur/évaporateur d'un refroidisseur à absorption à l'aide d'une plaque immergée.

Non-absorbable gas control in the absorber/evaporator in an absorption chiller using an immersed plate.

Résumé

The paper presents a two-dimensional numerical model of vapour flow in the absorber/evaporator in an absorption chiller. An immersed plate was inserted from the top wall in the absorber/evaporator and its horizontal position was changed in three steps while its length was kept constant. The mean concentration of non-absorbable gas ranged from 0 to 10 vol%. An immersed plate insertion was found to cause a flow recirculating region behind it. In such a recirculating region, non-absorbable gas is concentrated. When the immersed plate was located away from the absorber, non-absorbable gas did not penetrate into the absorber and the overall heat transfer remained high even at the mean non-absorbable gas concentration of 10 vol%. It was concluded that the insertion of an immersed plate can control the non-absorbable gas behaviour and that there exists an optimum position for an immersed plate enabling the absorption ability of the absorber to remain high.
