Critères de conception des systèmes à débit d'air variable (VAV) sans registres actifs de régulation.

Design criteria for variable air volume (VAV) systems without active control dampers.

Résumé

A variable air volume flow system is an energy efficient solution for commercial buildings, especially when the task of the supplied air is both ventilating and cooling. However, a VAV system is technically somewhat more complicated than a previously common constant air volume flow system. When selecting technical solutions, simplicity, intelligibility and tolerance against deviations in operating conditions should always be looked for. This paper accounts for results from two plants in operation, where by setting special demands on the supply air devices, a good function was obtained without active control dampers for pressure control in the duct system. The results from the field studies confirm that a technical solution in accordance with the studied one provides an adequately functioning system that ensures a good indoor climate.
