Résumé

Future scientific satellites will need on board refrigeration systems operating in the range 2 to 5 K to cool either their detectors or precool sub-kelvin coolers. These cryogenic systems will require relatively high cooling power, micro vibrations levels at low frequencies to ensure optical alignments. AL/DTA has started a development program to investigate technologies in order to provide a cryogenic power higher than 50 mW at 5 K without exporting unacceptable levels of vibrations. This development is based on a multi-stages Brayton cycle cooler operating at frequencies higher than 1000 Hz. These developments are performed in the frame of a European Space Agency TRP including the complete system design studies and the development of the most critical technologies.
