Cycle biétagé à compresseur à injection de vapeur.

Two-stage cycle with a vapour-injection compressor.

Résumé

As the increasing ambient temperature, the cooling load increases, the capacity and COP of air-conditioning systems decrease. Consequently, cooling systems are commonly oversized to match the highest cooling load at high ambient temperatures, resulting in an oversized system with low system efficiency compared to small size systems at low ambient temperatures, which occur in most of operating hours however. The vapour injection cycle is well-suited to improving the system performance at extreme conditions, but it did not receive much attention since it requires a two-stage compressor. This research provides experimental results of the potential improvement in performance of an air-conditioning system equipped with a vapour-injected scroll compressor and an internal heat exchanger. Test results show that the cooling capacity and COP were increased by 11.3 and 3.2%, respectively, at 46°C ambient temperature, as compared to those of a conventional air-conditioning system without a vapour injection.
