Résumé

This paper presents the heat and mass transfer characteristics of the generator in an absorption refrigeration cycle based on capillary force. In contrast to a conventional absorption refrigeration cycle, the proposed cycle involves a generator and an absorber that are both at low pressure. The low-pressure generator is separated from the absorber by a capillary wick. The strong solution from the absorber penetrates the wick, whereupon refrigerant vapor is generated by the heat load supplied to the generator. This creates a pressure difference between the evaporated refrigerant vapor and the solution. In this study, the heat and mass transfer
characteristics of this generation process were investigated using TFE/NMP and TFE/E181 as working fluids.
