Dégivrage par bypass de gaz chaud.
Hot gas bypass defrost.

Résumé
This paper examines one of the different systems to melt accumulated ice on the evaporators. Method is called hot gas bypass defrost. The paper attempts to limit operating conditions during hot gas bypass defrost to enhance the links between components and reduce investment costs and maintenance. This system is only valid on systems 1: 1 (1/2 evaporators and 1 compressor). It is important to become aware of precautions, such as avoiding liquid returns to the compressor, avoid hot liquids or gases mixed with cold liquid reducing phenomena of implosion and collapse of vapor, avoid pressure surges of liquid/vapor when solenoid valves are open and are under great pressure difference and prevent the expansion of liquid in the suction line. If this is successful, you can get very short, effective and safe defrosting. As the hot gas follows the same path as the refrigerant evaporates defrost is acting
directly on the same points where ice accumulate. This makes it more effective than electric defrost consuming less energy. That is the main advantage over electric defrosts. The generation of the pressure drop in the defrost cycle before entering the evaporator, is
the most important part for proper operation. The hot gas bypass defrosts, although it is not an energetically optimal solution, it is valid and brings speed and economy in defrost. Only careful selection of proper components used is sufficient for proper operation without problems.
