Résumé

Chemical heat storage is a promising technology for improving thermal energy efficiency. In this study, CaCl2 and H2O were selected as reaction system for utilization of low grade exhaust heat less than 200?. Heat release and heat storage were performed using CaCl2 hydration reaction. Silicon carbide honeycomb was adopted to improve heat transfer in the CaCl2 packed bed. In this study, heat storage temperature was set at 150 ?. The condenser temperature and the evaporator temperature were set at 30? and 90? respectively. As a result we had demonstrated heat release and storage of the reactor which had the honeycomb structure made of SiC. The highest averaged heat output per volume for the reactor was 480W/L, and it took approximately 3000 seconds until reaction rate reached 80%.In this study, we discussed the design of structure of packed bed and the heat exchange flow path for performance upgrade of the heat output.
