Résumé

This paper reviews pulse tube research in the past several years at the Technical Institute of Physical and Chemistry, former Cryogenic Lab. One main work is to develop high frequency, high efficiency pulse tube coolers (PTCs) for applications at 80 K. Four different sizes of coaxial PTCs have been developed to provide the cooling power of 0.1-6 W/80 K. They cover most of the requirements at 80 K. Another work is to develop high frequency high efficiency PTCs to satisfy the applications below 60 K. This includes single stage PTCs with and without multi-bypass that can reach around or below 30 K and two-stage pulse tube refrigerators for even lower temperature. At the same time, the authors are carrying out investigations on non-metal PTC.
