Résumé

In order to achieve high-critical current densities, the crystallographic orientation of the thallium-1223 wire must possess a high degree of both in-plane and out-of-plane grain alignment over the entire length of the conductor. Recent efforts have focussed on developing a cube-textured metallic tape substrate and continuous processing of thallium-1223-coated conductors on the substrate. In this review, recent research in superconducting properties, crystallographic orientation and fabrication methods regarding thallium-1223-coated conductors are introduced. Some problems awaiting solution are pointed out as well.
