Résumé

Geometrical parameters and topologies of porous media play significant roles in their adsorption performance. Pore network modeling (PNM) considers these factors without the requirement for large computational resources compared with the traditional continuum method. In this study, the pore network characterization, including the pore size distribution (PSD) and connectivity of the silica-based, Micro Sphere Gel (M. S. Gel), is studied by PNM. First, the PSD of the M. S. Gel is obtained through PNM using the modified Kelvin equation and then it is validated by comparing the simulated adsorption isotherm with the experimental results. Second, the connectivity is determined based on the obtained PSD incorporated with the percolation theory and the spatial arrangement of large and small pores. Finally, the effects of different structural parameters on isotherms are clarified, and the pore structure optimization of desiccants for autonomous humidity control is discussed.
