Résumé

A new approach to the identification of momentum and mass transfer of the two-phase flow near the surface of a horizontal heater is presented combining both theoretical and experimental investigations. In this approach, the two-phase flow perpendicular to the boiling surface is described by a one-dimensional two-fluid model derived by dimensional reduction. This model is the starting point to the formulation of an inverse problem which aims to identify constitutive equations to describe wetting and heat flux at steady-state boiling. The measurements for the solution of the inverse problem are provided by a twin micro-optical probe to measure local flow parameters such as vapour fraction profiles in pool boiling experiments. The identification of the model parameters in candidate constitutive equations as well as the vapour fraction and velocity at the heater surface is carried out exemplarily for an operating point in steady state transition boiling of isopropanol. Using the example of an operating point in steady state transition boiling of isopropanol, the authors identified the model parameters for candidate constitutive equations, as well as the vapour fraction and the velocity at the heater surface.
