Under conditions today no energy savings compared to free ventilation (window ventilation) can be obtained by the application of mechanical ventilation systems. Only the optimization of the total system "ventilation system + heating system + buildings" as well as an adapted ventilation behaviour of the users enables the development of energy saving potentials.
