Résumé

The paper describes the experiments performed at CEA/SBT on pulse tube coolers to demonstrate the effects of the permanent flow in the double inlet configuration. This permanent flow affects the wall temperature profiles of the regenerator and the tube. Solutions to minimise it have been tested and have led to a significant gain in performance. Experiments have been performed on different pulse tubes at low and high frequencies.
