Résumé

This study experimentally investigated the falling-film evaporation heat transfer characteristics of ammonia under the influence of lubricating oil on a horizontal smooth tube. The test tube had an outer diameter of 19.1 mm, and ammonia–polyalkylene glycol oil miscible in ammonia was used. The experimental conditions were as follows: heat flux of 10 and 20 kWm-2, film Reynolds number from 200 to 1000, saturation temperatures from -20 to 10 °C, and oil concentration from 0 to 10% mass fraction. Experiments showed that at a saturation temperature of 10 °C, the heat transfer coefficients of the oil mixtures were higher than those of pure refrigerants because of the increase in boiling bubbles in the film. However, at saturation temperatures of -5 and -20 °C, when the heat saturation temperatures were in the separation region below the critical solution temperatures, the heat transfer coefficients of oil mixtures were lower than those of pure refrigerants.
