Effet de la présence d'huile sur la performance d'évaporateurs et de condenseurs à l'ammoniac.

The influence of oil presence on the performance of ammonia evaporators and condensers.

Résumé

Lubrication oil in refrigeration plants has no function outside the compressor but has an enormous influence on the evaporator and condenser heat transfer (energy loss). The effect of oil on the heat transfer capacity of an exchanger is clearly a function of the oilfilm thickness. This thickness can be estimated. Manufacturers values are mostly based on oilfree operation. The performance of scraped surface heat exchangers doubles almost if oilfree. The by Grenco developed ammonia gas wash column, placed instead of the classic oil separator, is described. At some well known dutch breweries these columns are recently placed in the central discharge line. Results: after one year in operation the energy costs dropped 12 to 20%.
