Résumé

The major components of a system, namely refrigerant, compressors, heat exchangers, and control devices are also those which will affect running costs. These components are considered individually, and the way in which they interact is discussed. An example based on test data for an air conditioning unit with R410A illustrates how the component performance influences the final energy efficiency.
