Résumé

The long established, but generally forgotten, concept of 'duct efficiency' is shown to simplify the design of ducted ventilation systems that leak. The use of duct efficiency is more easily understood than the complex methods usually adopted, so it moves control of the ventilation system from the hands of the specialist into the hands of the front line operator.
