Résumé
Presents a literature review comprising over 350 citations. Discusses the results of their analysis and concludes that: 1) the use of fibrous glass duct lining and duct board systems can provide the intended thermal and acoustical benefits while maintaining occupant exposure to glass fibres at or near background or outdoor air concentrations; 2) if care is not provided to maintain these materials inclean and dry conditions the thermal and acoustic properties will be compromised and the probability of glass fibre emissions may be increased; 3) well-controlled field and laboratory studies are needed to adequately characterise and quantify emission rates of glass fibres from fibrous glass duct liners and duct boards.
