Enquête sur la conception des unités frigorifiques de transport multitempératures.

Survey of multi-temperature transport unit refrigeration design.

Auteurs : CHOPKO R. A., STUMPF A.

Résumé

This paper examines the differences between the North American and European applications for multi-temperature unit design and gives an insight into the market-oriented reasons behind the design decisions. The multi-temperature transport refrigeration system is unique with regards to the amount of refrigerant charge and the refrigerant demands of the multiple compartments. The most popular compartment arrangement used in North America and Europe is a frozen/chilled/dry system; however, other variations of this do exist on the market and require additional attention. Special consideration must be given to the construction of trailers and trucks, the insulation of the side walls, the number of deliveries per day and number of door openings per hour. This information will help guide the designer in estimating the multi-temperature capacity loads and selecting proper remote evaporator sizes. There must be an understanding of the physical limitations required by all types of compartment sizes regarding the placement of the remote evaporator. This information can also be used to help the end user to select the proper remote evaporator for the refrigeration loads in each compartment.
