The author presents: control valve characteristics; control valve authority; differential pressure changes with the average load in the plant; selection of the modulating control valves; special designs to solve local problems; keeping the differential pressure constant in heating plants variable flow distribution; and constant flow distribution. General design recommendations are also given.
