Résumé

States that according to a survey carried out by the author, over 70 different products are offered by some 25 manufacturers. Depending on the sources, the annually installed area is quoted as being between 500,00 and 800,00 m2. A comparison between the various chilled ceiling products has only become possible with the establishment of a uniform test procedure in the German standard DIN 4715-1 "Output measurement with unconfined flow, test rules", in July 1994. Describes in some detail comparative tests carried out in the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Test Stand of the University of Stuttgart. Notes differences in cooling output of up 30%.
