Résumé

R404A is now used everywhere in refrigeration applications with no technical constraint of any kind (technology, temperature range, etc.) since more than 3 years. This success encouraged OEMs, contractors and end-users to adopt it at industrial levels. Now R404A is widely used in industrial refrigeration with different installation configurations (DX expansion, low pressure liquid receivers, flooded evaporators with all kind of compressors etc.). Moreover large air-conditioning systems (water cooled) are being developed, taking advantage of the HCFC-22 available technology (soft optimization). Therefore we can say that R404A does more than just replacing R502 in its applications, but triggers application enhancements and technology evolution to meet user requirements and standardisation.
