Résumé

A desiccant outdoor air-conditioning system with indirect evaporative cooling process and regeneration process by solar air heaters was proposed and performance of the system was studied experimentally. A part of dry air made by a desiccant outdoor air-conditioning system was introduced into the cooling tower to promote the evaporation of the falling water inside the cooling tower. Cooling water made by the cooling tower was then supplied to a cooling coil to cool the process air. Desiccant rotor was regenerated by hot air which was heated by twin solar air collectors with perforated aluminum panels. Experimental results show that approximately 85% of thermal energy necessary for operation could be obtained from twin solar air collectors and from an indirect evaporative cooler around noon on a sunny summer day.
