Résumé

Ground source heat pump (GSHP) technology is promising for space heating and cooling in buildings. Energy geo-structures, like energy piles and boreholes, are important components affecting GSHP’s performance. However, the total heat transfer of the energy pile is limited by the number of building pile foundations, while vertical boreholes require a large land occupation and drilling cost. To avoid the disadvantages of a single-type energy geo-structure, the composite energy geo-structure is proposed with boreholes added between the building pile foundations. Then, the transient heat transfer performance of the composite energy geo-structure is numerically simulated based on COMSOL. Simulations indicate that the composite energy geo-structure shows a higher heat transfer capacity. The total heat transfer of the original structure can be increased from 4110 W to 6860 W, which is enhanced by 67%.
