Résumé

This paper presents experimental investigations on a novel ejector-expansion vapor compression refrigeration cycle (NEVRC) applied in domestic refrigerator-freezers. In the NEVRC, a two-phase ejector is introduced to allow two evaporators to be operated at matched evaporation temperatures. Experimental studies were conducted to validate the feasibility of the NEVRC system. The results showed that the average temperature of 5°C in fresh food chamber and the set temperature of -18°C in freezer chamber could be maintained with the energy consumption of 0.62kWh/24h and the pressure lift ratio of 1.03-1.08 for the ejector. It was confirmed that the NEVRC system gave the better matching of two different evaporation temperatures of -10°C and -26°C for fresh food evaporator and freezer evaporator, respectively. The further experimental results indicated that the performance of NEVRC system could be significantly improved by selecting the proper system configuration parameters including the compressor displacement and the refrigerant charge amount.
