Experimental study on reciprocating compressor volumetric efficiency.

Résumé

Comparison is presented between results of experimental study on reciprocating compressors volumetric efficiency and the ones obtained through suggested calculating procedure, aiming to propose correction factor for more precise calculation of volumetric efficiency. Tests were made on four cylinder compressor with swept volume of 468 cm3, and R12 as refrigerant (since it was still in use when this long-term study started). Because of properties of R134a similar conclusions may be assumed. This would present the matter of further research.
