An experimental study of convective heat transfer of a body disturbed by local air flow.

Résumé

The study examined the physical side of thermal comfort of local draught. The back of the neck and ankle of a thermal manikin were stimulated by local air flows of five temperature differences and four velocities from three distances. The changes in the air temperature at a distance of 5 mm from their surfaces and in the heat flux on their surfaces with and without the local air flow were compared. The results indicated that the local air flows affected the ankle more strongly than the neck.
