Résumé

This paper shows the results of a statistical study carried out on randomized experiments performed on a single effect water/lithium bromide adiabatic absorption chiller. The chiller is condensed by water and heated by a thermal fluid at low temperature (80 to 100ºC). The absorber is an adiabatic vessel with two solution inlets: concentrated solution, coming from the generator, and recirculated solution, coming from a subcooler. Seven independent variables were chosen: inlet temperature at the generator, external fluid mass flow rate at generator, evaporator, condenser and subcooler, the recirculated and diluted solution mass flow rates. The response variables were the cooling capacity and the COP. Using multivariate regression analysis, the effect of the controlled variables on the COP and cooling capacity is shown as well as the regressions obtained. A second regression shows the influence of observed variables over the resulting performance of the machine. The obtained regression models allow distinguish the most influential variables on the response variables and to plan the future experimental campaigns.
